Buchanan’s, l’Order Mondial

On March 30th, 2017, The Calgary Bailliage was hosted by the Buchanan family for a fantastic tasting at their Chop House and Whisky Bar which involved several whiskies from around the world.

Members and guests of the Chaine were warmly welcomed into an inviting room and provided with a wonderful “Western Welcome”; a unique and well-made Bourbon Sour.


 

Once we were seated, Linda Robinson welcomed us to the evening, introduced our guests, and reminded us that there are certain rules and conventions to be followed at the table. James Buchanan then formally welcomed us to Buchanan’s and explained his family’s long connection to l’Ordre Mondial. Throughout the evening, James provided detailed explanations of the whiskies and their respective pairings. The food and drink did not disappoint.

Shelter Point Artisan Single Malt, Oyster River, Vancouver Island, British Columbia

Course 4

Banana Toffee Pudding
Glenfarcas Highland Malt Whisky 21 Years Old, Speyside, Scotland

Thank you to the culinary team for a great meal!

It was a wonderful evening filled with camaraderie, great food, superb whiskies, and warm service.

Vice-Echanson Linda Robinson then wished us all a good evening and reminded us to find a safe way home.  A sincere thank you to Buchanan’s for hosting a great event.
